Pretty bird with an ugly name

The Common Waxbill is a pretty type of finch, much more attractive than its Plain Jane name.

They’re common enough, but not an everyday sight.  It’s nice to see a small flock of them doing their thing.

Like most small birds, they move pretty fast and don’t sit still for long.

They’re from Africa and supposedly have only been in Hawaii since the late 1970s.

Just a nice person who sees the good in life. And in nature.
