Beware of falling coconuts

Niu (coconuts) may be iconic in Hawaii, but they are not indigenous.  They were first brought to Hawaii by voyaging Polynesian explorers and settlers who became the early Hawaiians.  Besides providing drinking water for voyagers, coconuts had many important uses.  Coconut trees are beautiful but can also be quite dangerous, so snooze beneath one at your own risk and beware of missiles.
